I noticed Windows 8 has defragmentation enabled by default for my SSD drive , it will attempt to defragment my SSD?

No. It is commonly known that solid state drives do not need defragmentation and, even though Windows 8 has the defragmentation feature turned on by default on all drives (including SSDs), it has a smart feature that is able to detect whether the drive is a mechanical drive or a solid state drive and take the proper action.
