How can I change my firewall system to another system without changing it?

I really want to change to windows defender, but I don't want to turn off my firewall, or else, my computer is doomed. How can I do that?

Why are you doomed? Nothing is going to happen. It is correct you should not turn off your firewall for hours or days, but you can safely turn it off for a few minutes without any problems whatsoever, just make sure your PC is not infected with trojans first using a tool like SpyBot or Malwarebyes Antimalware

Also, Windows Defender is NOT a firewall and security experts usually use other tools to secure their PC's

You have a lot of research to do. Get Malwarebytes Antimalware and a decent firewall like AVG, Outpost or Panda

Edit: This may be of help too to understand the differences:

In general, a firewall can help you to block incoming or outgoing malicious connections. However, if your computer has a decent antivirus you could go without firewall for a long time without anything happen. But it's always recommended to have all Windows patches and configure your router to block certain ports (look up port forwarding / port configuration)
