After you upgrade to Windows 8 some files from your previous operating system will be kept. If you want to get rid of them you can simply delete the “Windows.old” folder, which contains most of them, or use Windows 8’s disk cleanup tool, which will allow you to completely remove any traces of your old operating system, including hidden files and system files that are no longer needed.
